Taking into consideration my macbook pro's hdmi specifications mentioned above, do you think I will encounter any difficulty connecting my macbook pro to an LG ultrawide display, namely that of the 29UW58-P? I think the numbers look right, in that my macbook can support the resolution needed for a ultrawide screen (or so it seems to me), but I'm concerned about the possibility of experiencing a reduced hz (is that important for working with pdf's/word documents?). After careful consideration, I decided to heed the given advice and go for the bigger size, but I just learned that, unlike my macbook pro, neither screens support displayports (which, to my understanding, allows for the best quality), so I'm essentially forced to rely on an HDMI connection, but I'm not sure if the hdmi on my unit is able to pull that off. I made a post earlier in this channel regarding the LG Ultrawide 25" (25UM58-P), but I was convinced by the members to upgrade to the 29". Support for 4096-by-2160 resolution at 24Hz.Support for 3840-by-2160 resolution at 30Hz.Support for 1080p resolution at up to 60Hz.I've been pulling my hair researching this question! It's so unfortunate to learn about the issues that seem to plaque the older macbooks when it comes to their pairing with ultrawide screens.Īccording to the early 2015 macbook pro retina's specs found here!, the hdmi on my unit can support three separate resolutions at differing hertz: UWG Nick, a 21:9 Youtube channel with gameplay videos "Wide as Fcuk", Youtube channel for 21:9 info and game reviews Rule 5: No Box Pictures Related sub-reddits: ![]() Rule 4: No referral links, URL shorteners, or selling used monitors.
